SmCo Magnet
introduction
Samarium cobalt magnet is also known as samarium cobalt magnetic steel, samarium cobalt permanent magnet, samarium cobalt permanent magnet, rare earth cobalt permanent magnet, etc. It is made of rare earth metals samarium, cobalt as raw materials, through batching, melting, powder, pressing, sintering and a series of processes.
Superior magnetic properties
Samarium cobalt permanent magnet is a kind of superior permanent magnet material, which not only has high magnetic properties, but also has strong corrosion resistance, oxidation resistance, low temperature coefficient, high Curie temperature, can be used at a higher ambient temperature, the highest use temperature can reach 350 degrees. When the operating temperature is more than 180℃, its maximum magnetic energy product and stable temperature is better than ndFeb magnetic material. Samarium cobalt is not susceptible to corrosion and oxidation, so electroplating is generally not required.
Application Area
Samarium cobalt permanent magnet is widely used in aerospace, national defense, microwave devices, communications, medical equipment, motors, instruments, all kinds of magnetic transmission devices, sensors, magnetic processors, magnetic cranes and other fields.
SmCo Magnet
Types of SmCo Magnet
SmCo 1:5
SmCo1:5 magnet also known as SmCo5, maximum operating temperature 250℃. Using metal samarium, cobalt and metal praseodymium as raw materials, through a series of processes such as melting, milling, pressing, sintering and so on, with different properties and grades of blank.
The physical properties and ductility of SmCo5 are better than that of Sm2Co17, so SmCo5 is easier to work thin or ring walls and has complex shapes, while Sm2Co17 is more brittle. The magnetic field of SmCo5 is smaller than that of Sm2Co17. In general, SmCo5 can be saturated magnetized by a magnetic field of 4000Gs, while the magnetization of Sm2Co17 with the Hcj value requires a magnetic field exceeding 6000Gs.
SmCo5 has a higher cobalt content than Sm2Co17, so it is more expensive than Sm2Co17. Users can choose SmCo5 or Sm2Co17 according to different usage environments. For information about SmCo5 performance grades, see the SmCo Magnet Performance Parameter Table.
SmCo 2:17
The SmCo2:17 magnet is also known as Sm2Co17, with a maximum operating temperature of 350℃. Using metal samarium, cobalt, copper, iron, zirconium and other proportional continuous casting, after melting, milling, pressing, sintering and a series of processes into the blank with different performance grades.
Sm2Co17 has very low temperature coefficient and good corrosion resistance. Under high temperature conditions, its magnetic properties are better than ndfeb magnets, so it has been widely used in aerospace, national defense, sensors and other fields.
Because of the brittleness of Sm2Co17 material, it is not suitable for complex shape, thin wall or ring wall. Due to this characteristic, there may be appearance defects such as small chips in the process of production, detection and magnetization. However, it will not change its nature, so we consider them qualified products.
Sm2Co17 magnet is not easy to magnetize saturation, so the customer must be familiar with the magnetization energy of their magnetizing equipment, in order to choose the appropriate grade, so that the company’s products to achieve full saturation, please refer to the application technology of magnetized magnetic field. For information about Sm2Co17 performance grades, see the SmCo Magnet Performance Parameter Table.
